Hilliard City Schools Student Artwork Earns Awards in Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition

Spring Art Happenings

Cheryl’s Cookies: Bradley art students recently displayed work at Cheryl’s Cookies in the Tuttle Mall.  Hannah Sanderell received second place and Chelsea Flowers received third place for their paintings.

Bradley’s Feats of Clay team: Recently competed in the Feats of Clay competetion held at West High School against 8 other clay teams from Columbus.  The competition consist of six categories no hands, cylinder stack, mugs, coil stack, t-shirt design and teapot design.  Bradley’s team took first place overall for the third year in a row.

Pennies for Patients breaks Bradley record with spring campaign

The 2012 Pennies for Patients campaign raised a grand total of $2,225.61 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, breaking previous years’ records.  Jaguar Ambassadors, led by adviser Gina Pullin, organized the charity by collecting donations from 5th period classrooms. Room A116 donated the most with $276 while five other classes also received pennant awards for raising over $100 each.

 

 

 

 


Bradley boasts two winners from Rotary speech contest

On Thursday, April 6 the Hilliard Rotary sponsored their annual Four Way Test speech contest.  Open to all Hilliard high school students, the contest required students to speak for at least 5 minutes about a topic that related to the Rotary’s mission statement.  Participants included Nibhil from Davidson and Andrew O’Neil, Marie Perry and Austen Read-McFarland from Bradley High School. 

The winner of the contest, Nabeel Alauddin, won $250.  Austen Read-McFarland took home $150 and 2nd place while Marie Perry took 3rd with $75.

Choir competition leads to Excellent, Superior ratings

Congratulations to the Bradley Choirs !   The Bradley Choirs competed in  the Ohio Music Education Association District 15 Choir Contest on Saturday, March 17th  on the Northland High School Performance Center stage.  The Concert Choir Women under the direction of Lora Moore premiered in Class B and received an EXCELLENT rating.  The Women’s Chorale under the direction of Kelsey Burkett moved up to Class A and received an EXCELLENT rating.  The Symphonic Choir under the direction of Lora Moore moved up  to Class AA  and received a SUPERIOR rating earning the chance to now compete at the STATE level.    All of  Bradley singers are to be commended for their diligent work in preparing musical selections and honing sight-reading skills.    The singers and directors also want to thank the many parent chaperones and staff members who traveled with us to lend their support!   Go Jags!
