Student Council
Student Council Application (Applications are due by September 4, 2009!)
Freshman Class
Dear Bradley Freshman Class Member:
Welcome to Bradley Class of 2013! My name is Mrs. LoParo and I, along with Mrs. Owens, will be your class advisors! We are thrilled to be working with you this year and hope that you take the opportunity to get involved in Student Council as a cabinet member for the Freshman class.
There will be a multitude of leadership opportunities that you may choose to be a part of at Bradley High School. I am writing to you today about the Freshman Class Cabinet. Each class cabinet constitutes the leadership of the class and, in combination with the other class cabinets, makes up the overall Bradley Student Council. Students who are chosen for the class cabinet will meet regularly as a cabinet with their class advisor as well as once a month, before school, as the Student Council. Class cabinets will take on specific events within the school as well as raise funds for their graduating class. In the Junior and Senior years, class officers will be elected from within these class cabinets. Two other leadership opportunities that I would point out if the class cabinet does not interest you are Renaissance (lead by Mrs. Rae Jeanne Cunningham) and the Jaguar Ambassadors (lead by Mr. Alex Beekman). The Renaissance club’s focus will be on student and staff recognition as well as service. The Ambassador’s focus will be on continuous improvement of school climate as well as serving as the welcoming face of Bradley High School.
Above you will find an application that you can fill out to help us get to know you better if you are interested in being involved with the Freshman class activities. The goals of our 10-person cabinet are to raise money for upper level activities, promote class unity and involvement at Bradley, and to help the Hilliard community.
Some of the activities we will be doing this year include, but are not limited to, a Yankee Candle fundraiser (which will take place in October), the Winter Dance in November or December, and we will also collaborate with the other class cabinets and Renaissance on Adopt-A-Family. We will use a small portion of our class funds to buy Christmas gifts for families who are less fortunate in the Hilliard community. We will also support and involve ourselves with activities that the Sophomores and Juniors will be doing throughout the year.
This is a great opportunity for you to get involved at Bradley!!! We look forward to meeting you in the near future.
Applications are due by September 4, 2009!
Thank you in advance,
Heidi LoParo and Katie Owens
